GLS incandescent lamps are being banned this year and compact fluorescents contaning Toxic Mercury are also being replaced with the energy saving high efficiency LED light bulbs and LED fluorescents.

Recent legislation will ban the 100w light bulb this year, they are inefficient but have warm white colours, basically replicating the sun but without the harmful Ultra Violet rays. Other wattages will no doubt be banned in year 2010-2011 with the consequence of changing over to compact fluorescents which have now been superceded by LED Light Bulbs and LED Fluorescent Lamps.
